Curious minded, and willing to go down the path less traditional, I got into hypnosis.
One day, at the age of 7, a stranger in a wheel chair saw me fall and told me to direct happy thoughts to my ‘boo boo’. When I did this the hurt seemed to vanish. The man smiled and said your mind is amazing!
From that moment on I did the same thing to all my scraps and hurts. I was truly amazed at the power of my thoughts.
I was in college studying Psychology, when hypnosis came up. I though nothing of it really. I am a Boston breed female not to mention a Taurus, as curious and as off the path as I would go, I still had tradition engrained in my everything. Education, house, family, etc.
I broke the bounds of traditionalism at some point and went to create my own adventures in California. Where again, I came across a friend of the family spouting off about hypnosis. He said he needed to have a few participants to work on, to get his degree. Of course, curious, I volunteered. I had an audience of my co-workers, non, believers at the moment. He did something called ‘the arm raise’. I was quite sure it would not work, at least on me. Sure as rain my hand started raising, like magic. In my awe, he said, “your mind is amazing”. I could not outright explain how it happened but I was sure that it did happen. Soon my co-workers lined up to try. They too were surprised. I was sold.
I then went out and found the best school I could to get trained in hypnosis. HMI in Tarzana California which is the, America’s First Nationally Accredited College of Hypnotherapy. Truly changed my life!
