Is stage hypnosis the same as hypnotherapy?
Hollywood likes to bring everything to the extreme, hypnosis is no exception. So many takes on hypnosis have been in the media and out in society. In actuality hypnosis is something everyone goes in and out of every day.
Stage hypnosis is not fake, in fact quite real. Stage hypnosis seeks out a certain type of individuals that would perform well on the stage. When you go to a show you usually see the hypnotist ask the audience, who wants to come on stage to be hypnotized. Then when once the people have been picked and are on stage the hypnotist will ask of the participants questions and one by one the hypnotist will remove people or let them stay. This is a process of understanding who will be hypnotizable on stage. A stage hypnotist is focused on finding a specific type of person. In an audience there tends to be about 20% that are stage hypnotizable.
a Hypnotherapist is trained in the individual. It is the hypnotherapists job to learn their client and proceed with the best techniques available to reach the goal. It is the hypnotherapists job to learn the individual that is coming in for help. Understanding how they see the world and how they believe the world sees them. How they interact in their world, etc. If your hypnotherapist can speak and understand your language then you will have success with your sessions and the changes you are looking to achieve.
So the basic difference is : Stage hypnosis is about finding a specific person or type of people for the show and Hypnotherapist is about finding a specific method or methods for the person looking for help. If you haven’t already, check out my article on, ‘What is hypnosis?’
Stay asleep with this 1 trick…
Waking up in the middle of the night, perhaps around 2 or 3. This is the witching hour that many people who are stressed, wake up.
A new solution that nobody seems to talk about or know:
Before bed and teeth brushing, I recommend you have a small protein snack. My recommendation is String cheese. Why String cheese, basically because its fun to eat, but also easy to have it portioned out.
How did you discover this?
I learned about this in school, how blood sugar impacts adults as well as children. As a hypnotherapist I worked with parents bring children in for Night terrors. There are many techniques to help them over come this but the #1 would be “magic cheese” before bed.
Why does it work?
Small protein snack works because it helps stabilize your blood sugars during the night. Children are growing and often their metabolism is haywire. The same goes for Overstressed adults. Your metabolism off has ups and downs through out the night.
Can it be any protein, I’m allergic to dairy.
Lentils are a great source of protein and also small bites of chicken or lean protein works great.
I do not recommend nuts, as they are to hard on the digestive system while resting. ThIs food can actually cause night mares if had before bed.
How do you recommend I eat the protein:
Great question, I often think of this as a treatment and like any treatment you have to figure out the amount. When you take medicine for a headache you can decide on one pill or two (often) This is the same, start off with a bite and increase till you are sleeping through the night. Having a whole meal before bed is a no-no and is hard on the digestive system. So one bite to two bites usually does the trick. Maximum a whole cheese stick if that is what does the trick. Too much will distress the system so just the right amount you will discover. Having one bite may increase your sleep a few hours then take two bites to finish increasing. happy sleeping!
What does driving and hypnosis have in common?
Both are about learned behavior and driving is a great way to help you understand how hypnosis works.
If you drive you probably go back and forth to certain locations a lot, like work, the grocery store or maybe the best gas station. When you go back and forth do you think about it? Probably not. As a matter of fact you are probably so aware of the path that you know where the potholes are, which lights always seem to turn red as you approach, annoying. While you are driving to any of these locations you are probably not thinking about how to get there, rather you are thinking about
Nearly half of all children in the world ‘live in poverty’
